Gerosa lake

Gerosa Lake is a basin of artificial origin with a width of 400 meters and a length of about 2 km. Mainly fed by the Aso river which descends from the slopes of Monte Carrier down to the Adriatic, the lake defines the boundaries of three municipalities: Montemonaco, Montefortino and Comunanza.

Events of canoeing, sailing and fishing are organized frequently as the generous size lends itself to accommodate these activities. Much appreciated also during the summer because of its beaches that become a destination for tourists who come here to enjoy relaxing days, good sun and spectacular views. The right bank, mainly covered by woods, is the least accessible but is well suited to enjoy relaxing and pleasant walks or to practice Nordic Walking while in the neighboring forest paths you can meet some species of wild mammals that live here, such as the roe deer. the porcupine or the badger.

Gole dell’Infernaccio

The "Gole dell’Infernaccio", or simply Infernaccio, are natural gorges formed by the River Tenna. These are located in the municipality of Montefortino in the province of Fermo, in the Sibillini Mountains National Park and are among the most evocative gorges of the Umbrian-Marche Apennines.

The "Gole dell’Infernaccio" are an important place for excursions and walks, especially for the refreshment they offer during the summer. The "Gola dell’Infernaccio" opens the way to various tourist and hiking routes among the most famous of the entire chain of the Sibillini Mountains: the hidden waterfall, the source of the river Tenna (Capotenna) and the Hermitage of San Leonardo.

Monteguarnieri Park

You can start your holiday in the Sibillini mountains by taking a walk inside the Monteguarnieri park. The Sibillini chain frames the park located on the top of the town full of centuries-old trees. Here you have the opportunity to try your hand at adventurous itineraries, marked by a gymnastic course in the woods. An immense clearing for adults and children in contact with nature.

The Monti Azzurri Hotel offers carbon snowshoes for those who want to practice Nordic walking. In the afternoon, after the inevitable siesta, we recommend that you visit the "Museo della Sibilla" to get to know our culture better. The property is located a few steps from the hotel inside Villa Curi where you will also find "the house of the park". Admission is free

Pilato lake

The southern part of the Sibillini is characterized by an arched ridge on which the highest peaks are concentrated: Monte Vettore (2478m), Cima del Redentore (2449m), Monte Argentella (2201m), Palazzo Borghese (2119) and Monte Porche (2235 ).

The "Lago di Pilato" is enclosed within this ridge. Its valley is typically glacial with a "U" profile. In the hollows of the glacial basin, even in the height of summer, there are tongues of snowfields, often covered by mounds of detritus.
